Windows and doors

I've kept myself at home to make progress on our wall cutouts. Its worked! Earlier this week we completed 3 windows in a day. That's progress! I've scrapped the custom cut sill buck as its taking too much time and its not working out as I expected. With the 3x10" bucks in place, I can return later (yeah right) to add a custom veneer to the sill, giving it a nice extended appearance. I didn't find a lot of information on how to make the window cuts so after accomplishing 7 of them I have a few tips. 1) I learned from others not to cut the entire window opening at once. This  could be a nightmare to remove from the wall as it gets bound up in the opening. Rather, I cut the vertical lines then begin cutting firewood size chucks from the opening. Next cut along some of the rebar to help with removal of chucks. Lastly, leave logs chunks attached to the upper rebar. Not sure if this works for summer or winter cut logs but my standing dead logs allowed me to take a sledge hammer and pound on the log, driving the rebar from the top log. This means I've got less rebar to cut around, dull up my chainsaw blades, etc. This was a great time saver and has worked on most windows. Seven down, 7 to go!

This took time to remove!
