New residents

Another type of house building
Even before we began the windows, we had new residents in our log home.  Bats! One night we were finishing up some T&G flooring and a little bat swooped in to check us out. We thought nothing of it and returned the next day to see droppings on the floor underneath the ridge pole. They tell me makeup is made of the stuff but I'm  not interested! After several days and evenings of trying to scope them out we got online to see how to rid ourselves of these creatures. They're great for insects so we just needed to encourage them to move outside the home. Two bat houses were built and some mothballs were hung from the ridge pole in order to drive them out. Is it working? No. Thankfully I've determined they aren't "living" in the home, just visiting at night. Could be fun once we're living in it! Ha!
